We have some exciting news to share with you!
Elvis is our new team member and he will be the face of all things Givey on our platform. Elvis is a cockatiel with bags of personality. His owner Louise introduced us to him and he was the highlight of many of our meeting calls. He is here with us today for an interview so you can be properly introduced…
What made you want to work for Givey?
Elvis: I have a great passion for helping others and Givey is fantastic at promoting, supporting, and serving small charities. Ever since I first met the team, they have been extremely welcoming and innovative. When this position opened up, I couldn’t believe my luck!
What can you bring to your new role as mascot?
Elvis: I can bring my voice! I always have something to say and love being on laptops! Louise can back me up here, but I always thrive in the company of others even if that means being on a call. So I can’t wait to join the Givey conversation on my new Twitter account. Another fact about me is that once I have made up my mind about something, I always stick to it. Being a new team member at Givey will mean that I can put my words to good use!
And I know that I will make so many new friends.
Describe what your job will involve.
Elvis: My new job will be all about assisting and engaging with Givey members. You can find me starring in support videos, on the FAQ page, messaging service and helping with customer support. I can’t wait to meet some great people and change the way we donate one new member at a time!
How will you relate to our Givey community?
Elvis: I definitely think my personality will make me relatable to the Givey community. Charities on Givey are small organisations who welcome support and resources. I love to help others and am equally as passionate and loyal to the Givey aim. This is to serve the forgotten 95% of small charities by levelling the playing field and using the opportunity of mobile / social to reach new audiences. Small charities value learning and are not afraid to speak up about their challenges as well. I am always talking and enjoy learning new facts.
Did you know that cockatiels are better at whistling than they are at talking?
Those who are really talented can even remember whole songs.
What are your hobbies?
Technology and all things digital! I like to nibble on laptops and be in front of the camera. I like singing and whistling, I’m very good at whistling!
Why do you love tech?
Because it brings people together.
Tell us something we don’t know about you?
A computer once beat me at chess but it was no match for my whistling.
What’s your number 1 tip when overcoming a technical glitch?
Switch it off and on again.
Why is your name Elvis?
Because of my amazing quiff. And I have got style and character which makes me unique. I stand out in the parrot family you know. 😉
Which celebrity can you most relate to?
Elvis Presley. We both love to sing, dance and have the best hair in the business!
What is your favourite song?
“Three Little birds” by Bob Marley because whenever I’m worried I can put it on to sing along to and it always cheers me up.
What do you love?
I love my computer because all my friends live inside it!
Is there anything you would like to say to the members on our platform?
Yes, I would like to tell them that I am your friend, your partner, your parrot. You are my friend, my family, and my companion for life.
